If you recruit from the EU, you'll need to have a sponsor License after 31st December 2020

Yesterday, Parliament set out the foundations for the new Points-Based Immigration System, with several changes to the Immigration Rules.

The new Points-based System will apply from 1st January 2021, for anyone hiring outside the UK’s resident labour market (except Irish citizens).

The new system will hopefully provide a simpler and more flexible arrangement for UK employers to recruit skilled workers from around the world through a number of different routes.

The Skilled Worker Route will open for applications from December 2020. To recruit through this route, you must be registered as a licensed sponsor. It takes around 8 weeks to gain a license to sponsor.

If you are considering hiring anyone from around the world, including EU, EEA and Swiss Nationals after the 31st December you’ll need that sponsor license.
